Conservation & Restoration

Conservation & restoration services in North Cornwall

It can be daunting if your property requires conservation or restoration. If you don’t have the knowledge, expertise and skills necessary, the work can either go over-budget, or damage the the building beyond repair.

We have significant experience in conservation and restoration and have completed a range of projects for both private individuals and organisations such as the National Trust.

The difficulty with any conservation or restoration work is that you do not know what ‘lies underneath’. However, our knowledge of the history of buildings in and around north Cornwall means that we can give you the best help possible before any work is started.

A lot of work will be on listed buildings, or in conservation areas. Our good relationship with the council and other officials will help to make sure that work goes as smoothly as possible, and meets all current regulations whilst retaining the charm and character of your property.

“T H Teague and Sons built our house, Penkenna Barn, in 1998. The site was derelict when we started so the project was to restore and rebuild where possible the existing building and to add a new extension in keeping with the original barn. “It took approximately 18 months to complete the project from start to finish during which time Teagues ensured a smooth and effortless experience. “They took considerable care with the project whilst attention to detail in terms of general building, finishes, carpentry, timings and costs were exceptional. “We cannot speak too highly of their skill and craftsmanship or their ability to manage a project of this complexity. It was a thoroughly positive experience working with them and we would recommend them without hesitation.” Fiona Bourne
